How Collection Works - Central Guns

Order online, collect in-store

Because shotgun cartridges are Section 2 firearms ammunition under the Firearms Act 1968, we can only legally supply them to certificate holders, in person, at our shop. Here’s how the online flow works:

1. Browse & order online

Pick the cartridges you want, choose the shot size and quantity, and add them to your basket. No payment is taken online — you pay us when you collect.

2. We’ll call you when ready

Don’t head straight down. We’ll call you when your order is ready to collect — usually within a working day.

3. Come and collect

Pop in to 158 London Road, Macclesfield, SK11 7SP during opening hours (Mon–Fri 8:30–17:30, Sat 8:30–15:30). Bring your valid UK shotgun certificate. We’re legally required to check it’s valid and record your name, address, certificate number, issue date, and issuing police force.

4. Pay & go

Pay by cash or card when you collect. We hand you the cartridges and you’re on your way.

What if I can’t show a valid certificate?

We cannot release the cartridges to you. We’ll cancel the order and you won’t be charged (no online payment was taken). You’ll get an automatic cancellation email.

Can someone else collect for me?

No. The certificate holder named on the order must collect in person, and must present their own certificate. You can’t send a friend, partner, or courier — it’s a legal requirement.

How long will you hold my order?

We’ll hold orders for 14 days after we’ve called you. If you haven’t collected by then, we’ll release the cartridges back into stock and cancel your order. We don’t take payment online so there’s nothing to refund.
